PREPARING FOR YOUR FIRST TIME

It’s completely natural to feel a little apprehensive at first, but don’t let this feeling stop you from joining us! The exercises developed by Joseph Pilates are designed to be tailored to each individual's abilities.f you're new to Pilates, our instructors will ensure you feel at ease and progress at a comfortable pace. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you advance!

WHAT TO WEAR

For your Pilates class, opt for comfortable, form-fitting clothes like leggings and a snug top to allow full movement and ensure your instructor can see your form. Choose breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics to stay cool and dry. Avoid loose clothing that might interfere with your workout. Pilates is usually done with non-slip grip socks (which we sell here for men and women at the studio), so no shoes are needed. Please no jewelry because it can tear our mats, and tie back long hair for safety. Following these tips will help you feel comfortable and prepared for your session. Men, please wear compression underwear.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR FIRST CLASS

In a Pilates class, you will perform exercises to make your body stronger and more flexible. Throughout the class, you will engage in a series of focused movements, emphasizing precise form and targeting specific muscle groups, often incorporating Pilates equipment such as the Reformer or Cadillac. The class starts with easy moves to warm up and ends with stretches to cool down. The instructor will always help you if you are new or need to do things differently because of your fitness level or any injuries. Just focus on your breathing and following the instructor's directions. It's a great way to get fit and feel good!
